Source First, Then Treatment
Ant control services from Wildlife Resolutions start by locating the colony that feeds the trail you see. Spraying a visible trail kills a few workers, and the colony keeps sending more. Our technicians identify the ant first, follow the activity back to the nest and choose a treatment suited to that ant.
Then we find how the ants get in and seal those gaps, so the fix holds after the next rain. Carpenter ants get a closer look, because they nest in moist or damaged wood and often point to a moisture problem in the structure. Ant control is one of the pest control services we provide for single-family homes, multi-family buildings, restaurants, offices and retail stores, and our commercial pest control team serves larger facilities across the region.

One Team for Wildlife and Pests
Wildlife Resolutions was founded in Ithaca in 2014 by a wildlife biologist with more than 20 years in the field. Every technician is New York State licensed and dual-certified, so the same person who traces your ant trails also seals the gaps behind them.
Four Steps, No Surprises
Every ant control job follows the same four steps, from the first assessment to follow-up.
We confirm the ant species, follow the trails and locate both the nest and the entry points the ants use.
You hear what we found and what we recommend, with a quote built not to be exceeded, before work begins.
We treat the colony where it lives, apply exterior ant control along the foundation and seal the gaps ants use.
We share prevention steps for your property, offer a year-round pest control plan, and one technician handles every warranty visit.

Understanding Ant Problems
Ant removal starts at the nest. Black ants and carpenter ants hide their nests out of sight, and carpenter ants choose moist or damaged wood, so their nest also uncovers a moisture problem.
Ants enter through small gaps around windows, doors, foundations and the spots where pipes and wires enter the house. Sealing those gaps, storing food in closed containers and fixing leaks keeps new ants out.
Targeted ant treatment often works because worker ants carry it back to the colony. Activity usually drops over the following days rather than instantly, and your technician explains what to expect on your property.
Store-bought sprays kill the workers you can see while the colony survives and sends more. Professional ant control services treat the colony and the entry points together, so the problem is handled at its source.

Before You Book
The best ant killer is a treatment that reaches the colony, not a spray that only kills the ants you can see. Store products knock down visible workers while the nest survives. A licensed technician identifies the ant, locates the nest and treats the colony, then seals the gaps ants use to get inside.
Every treatment we apply follows the product label, and we explain any precautions before work begins. A cure period is recommended before anyone re-enters a treated space. Tell us about children, pets or sensitivities when you book, and your technician plans the treatment around them. Someone must be home for interior treatments, but not for exterior ones.
Carpenter ants slow down outdoors in cold months, and indoor activity in winter often means a nest inside the heated structure, such as a wall void. Several pests stay active year-round, so winter sightings are worth an assessment. Your technician looks for the nest and for the moisture or damaged wood that carpenter ants favor.
Yes. Ants need water, so leaks, damp crawlspaces and condensation around pipes under sinks draw them inside. Carpenter ants go further and nest in moist or damaged wood. Fixing leaks and improving drainage around the house is part of lasting ant control, and your technician points out moisture issues during the assessment.
Ants in garden beds do little harm to the garden itself, but colonies close to the foundation can lead to indoor activity. Keep mulch and firewood away from the house and watch for trails moving toward doors or windows. When outdoor colonies start sending ants inside, exterior ant control around the foundation stops them at the source.
A one-time visit fits a single ant problem with a clear source, such as one colony nesting near the kitchen. Homes where ants return each spring, along with spiders or wasps, are a better fit for our year-round pest control plan. That plan covers ants, spiders, stinging insects and mouse bait stations, with the same technician at each visit.
